Global markets focused on Jackson Hole

A mixed course is observed in the global markets on the first trading day of the new year.

On the first trading day of the new year, a more positive start was observed on the US side, while the decline in European and some Asian stock markets was remarkable. S&P 500 and Nasdaq futures rose, while Euro Stoxx 50 futures showed marginally negative pricing.

While South Korea Kospi index and Taiwan Taiex index rose, Hong Kong Hang Seng index decreased.

There was a Positive Closing on the Last Day of the Year

Although the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 indices closed with limited decreases in low volume on Friday, they increased by about 27 percent throughout the year.

The dollar tumbled against most G-10 currencies on Friday.
