American e-commerce giant Amazon will demand a 5 percent “fuel and inflation” surcharge from sellers in the US for the first time in its history due to rising costs. The company’s message to the sellers on the subject stated that the said application would be implemented due to the significant increase in inflation in recent months.
In the company’s message, it was stated that the surcharge application would not be permanent. On the other hand, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy noted in an interview with CNBC that the costs of the epidemic, inflation, and war are too high for the company to afford.
